“Dead Men (and Women) Walking” is a collection of 2 dozen horror stories that revel in the blood, gore, and morbid obsession people have with undead monsters, particularly zombies. Many of the stories are your obligatory tales of shambling hordes of hungry zombies stalking a sole survivor through an assortment of zombie standards: malls, business complexes, etc. But to dismiss this as yet another assortment of typical zombie stories would be wrong. In fact, this book succeeds at putting a fresh spin on the popular but overdone zombie story by given the zombies themselves a bit of personality. Whether it is giving new meaning to the term shotgun wedding or forming zombie support groups, the undead in this collect are often after a bit more than just your brains. It’s a fun, scary, and often surprisingly witty ride through what many consider an overdone sub-genre of horror. A real gem and stand out collection for horror fans. - Clark Keller
